You Are a Light

May the living light inside you be the compass as you go.

Devotion

Have you ever walked outside in the dark? Or down a dark hallway? What do you use to see better? A flashlight! The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Light of the World. When Jesus lives inside us, we have His light to guide us—just like a flashlight in the dark! Jesus also helps us shine light wherever we go as we show His love to others.

What is one way you can shine the light of Jesus for others today?

Prayer

Dear God, thank you for being a bright shining light inside of me. I want to show Your light wherever I go. Amen.

Activity

Turn out the lights and play a game of Catch the Light with friends or your family. One person holds the flashlight and shines it all over the room. Then all of a sudden, the flashlight-holder stops moving the light. Everyone else has to run try to catch the light—jump on it if it’s on the floor or try to reach it if it’s on the walls or ceiling!
