May you always know you have my hand to hold.
Devotion
The Bible tells us that nothing in the whole universe can ever separate us from God’s love. In fact, God is love! God uses people like your parents, grandparents, teachers, neighbors, and friends to show His love to you. God also uses nature—like the beautiful blue sky and butterflies and trees—to show His love to you too. God is so good to love us in so many different ways!
Question
Who or what makes you feel most loved?
Prayer
Dear God, thank you that I will always, always be loved. Amen.
Activity
Trace your hand on a piece of paper. Ask your mom or dad to trace their hand too. Now cut out each paper hand and tape or glue them so they are touching each other. If you want, you can write a Bible verse like “God is love” on the hands or simply write “I love you!” Use your paper hands to remember that you are loved and you will always have a hand to hold.
Scripture
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39 NIV
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. 1 John 4:7-12 NIV
