May you never lose the wonder in your soul.

Devotion

When Jesus walked on earth, He loved spending time with children. He even said that the kingdom of heaven belonged to children! Maybe one of the reasons Jesus loved being with kids is that they are curious about the world God made. Sometimes grown-ups stop being curious. They stop realizing how beautiful trees are or how good blackberry jam tastes! They stop wondering about what God is like. But when we wonder about God and His creation, we get to know Him more! And that’s the most wonder-full thing of all.

Question

What do you like to wonder about?

Prayer

Dear God, I wonder about a lot of things! The world is so amazing. Thank you for creating me to ask questions and discover more about who You are. Amen.

Activity

Keep a question jar or box by your bed or on the kitchen counter. Write down (or ask a grown-up or older brother or sister to write down) questions you have about God, your family, creation, the Bible, or anything else! The rest of your family might want to do this too. Then on a special family night, open the question jar and read the questions out loud. You can take turns answering them or you can just enjoy asking the questions!

Scripture

Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen. Psalms 72:18-19 NIV

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there. Matthew 19:14-15 NIV
